BEDTIME STORIES

Bear-Bedtime-StoryI sat down on the edge of the bed,

book in hand I read and read.

Sleepy bedtime stories,

tales of crazy fish, boys and such.

I love to read bedtime stories,

even when it’s not about much!

You sit on the bed and read and read,

and the littles mind slowly starts to ease,

and drift off to sleepy land instead of

staying up late and jumping in bed!

I love to read bedtime stories,

as they quickly drift off to sleep.

Suddenly their breathing slows,

sleep comes, and it’s oh so sweet!

Silly bedtime stories

of ice cream, pancakes and slime,

and when they softly whisper

“read it again, oh please – one more time”!

And then they lay there and beg and beg you,

“Please one more, or maybe even two”?

And you can’t help but read more,

because quite simply, you love stories too!

I love to read bedtime stories

and one more isn’t quite enough.

I’d read all day and night if I could

because some day soon the littles

will be all grown up.
